Lead Superintendent CSA supervises the construction activities assigned to third party contractors, and ensures compliance with schedule, costs, quality, health, safety and environmental protection requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall area of responsibility and activities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supporting the CM, in close collaboration with the project organization of the Main Contractor for the Engineering & Procurement phase, in preparing and updating of construction schedules that meet project objectives.
- Ensuring the most suitable solutions in terms of assembly sequences, works scheduling, constructability, feasibility, etc.
- Coordinating the site activities of contractors in collaboration with Main Contractor, with particular attention to interfaces with other ongoing projects within site.
- Checking construction progress weekly, identifying any critical aspects and requesting the necessary actions from the Contractor concerned.
- Checking the adequacy of personnel and equipment belonging to the contractors, promoting any actions required to achieve objectives.
- Verifying that works is correctly carried out, in accordance with project documentation, notifying Engineering of any engineering problems encountered in the field.
- Attending the tests, controls and inspections carried out by the Main Contractor and its sub-contractors, checking conformity required by specifications, European Directives and Standards.
- Ensuring the orderly collection and management of written records of inspections, controls and test results by Main Contractor for the purpose of approvals of mechanically completed plant systems.
- Ensuring that tests, controls and inspections are carried out in accordance with established schedules, including the necessary 3rd party inspections.
- Participating in determining corrective actions and then ensuring correct implementation of the activities for resolving cases of nonconformity.
- Facilitate the handover of completed systems to the Commissioning and/or Facilities teams.
- Ensuring, with the support of the HSE Team the field control of HSE aspects, also with reference to activities developed by Contractors/Suppliers.
- In charge of reviewing risk assessments (RA) and method statements (MS) = RAMS.
- Notifying the CM of problems and deviations that cannot be settled directly.
- Assisting the CM and Project Manager with tasks related to Change Management, including problems concerning claims or price revisions submitted by the contractors.

Budget Responsibility: Yes (TBD).
Direct Reports: Yes (Field Specialist Supervisors for Concrete, Steel and Architectural works).
Change Management approvals: Yes (amounts to be agreed at project start).
Procurement approvals: Yes (amounts to be agreed at project start).
Requirements (Education or Other qualifications):
Education: University degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant field of study.
Professional Experience:
- >8 years of experience in industrial construction projects.
- Familiarity with relevant International Standards (Eurocode 2, Eurocode 3, EN 1090, EN 1011, etc).
- Familiarity with the applicable AMA codes and BBR building regulations (highly valued).
- Familiarity with AB04 (general conditions of contract for building & civil engineering works & building services in Sweden) (highly valued).
- Familiarity with ABT06 (general conditions of contract for design & construct contracts for building, civil engineering and installation works in Sweden).
Certifications:
The following certifications and competence courses shall be in good standing at the time of employment and remain in good standing through out the duration of the assignment. Alternatively, a clear implementation plan to be in place to achieve compliance within the first 3 months of employment.
- Driver’s License class B valid in Sweden/EU.
- BAM (Bättre Arbetsmiljö) and BAS-P/U course, ensuring familiarity with Sweden’s Work Environment Laws and Arbetsmiljöverket Provisions.
- Heta Arbeten Permit Issuer (hot works loss prevention).
- Work at height (Fall protection including rescue).
- MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms Training).
- Safe lifting (Säkrare Lyft ISO or equivalent).
- Safe Excavation (Säker Schakt).
- Scaffold <9m training certifications.
Other valuable (but not required) experience:
- Cast-in-Place Concrete competence Level 1 from accredited organization, or equivalent (Platsgjuten Betong Kompetensklass.
- Noise and Vibrations.
- Asbestos, Mold and Dust.
- Any additional certification and/or competence requirements that transpire during the selection process.
Skills:
- English Mandatory.
- English & Swedish bilingual proficiency highly valued.
- Proficiency with the of Contractor manpower highly valued as well.
Computer Literacy:
- MS Office.
- MS Project or other Planning/Scheduling software highly valued.
