The Opportunity

Kintec Global Recruitment are currently supporting a leading data centre delivery organisation with the appointment of an experienced CSA QA/QC Engineer to join a major data centre project in Skellefteå, Sweden.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) QA/QC Engineer to play a key role in ensuring that all CSA works are delivered to the required quality, safety and compliance standards.

Working closely with the CSA Construction Manager, Project Manager, engineering, construction and wider quality teams, you will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting CSA works, implementing quality control procedures, reviewing subcontractor documentation, managing non-conformances and ensuring all quality requirements are effectively managed through to completion and handover.

The role would suit a QA/QC Engineer with a strong construction background and detailed knowledge of CSA works who is looking to develop their experience within the rapidly growing European data centre sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and inspect Civil, Structural and Architectural works to ensure construction is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, standards and project requirements.
  • Develop, implement and maintain project-specific QA/QC procedures and quality control processes for CSA works.
  • Review subcontractor Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality plans and associated documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, quality audits and surveillance activities to verify the quality of completed and ongoing works.
  • Identify, record and manage quality issues and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required.
  • Work closely with the CSA Construction Manager, Project Manager, engineers and subcontractors to investigate and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Monitor the implementation of corrective and preventative actions and ensure outstanding quality issues are closed out within the required timeframe.
  • Ensure materials, products and workmanship are inspected, tested and documented in accordance with project specifications and relevant standards.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure all required inspection and testing activities are completed and appropriately documented.
  • Review inspection and test records, material certificates, test results and other quality documentation submitted by subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, inspection reports, NCRs, test documentation and associated project records.
  • Support the preparation of regular quality reports and provide updates on quality performance, outstanding issues and close-out activities.
  • Liaise with the design and engineering teams where quality issues relate to drawings, specifications or technical requirements.
  • Participate in site meetings, quality meetings, construction coordination meetings, inspections and project reviews.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with approved Method Statements, Risk Assessments, ITPs and project quality requirements.
  • Support the wider project team in maintaining high standards of quality, health, safety and environmental compliance across the site.
  • Ensure completed works are appropriately inspected and signed off prior to progressing to subsequent construction activities.
  • Assist with the preparation and compilation of quality dossiers, handover documentation, O&M manuals and final QA/QC records.
  • Support the successful handover and close-out of the CSA works, ensuring all outstanding quality documentation and defects are completed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience working as a QA/QC Engineer on large-scale construction projects.
  • Previous experience across Civil, Structural, Architectural, façade or associated construction works.
  • Strong understanding of CSA construction methods, quality standards, inspection processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience developing and implementing QA/QC procedures, Inspection & Test Plans and quality control processes.
  • Experience carrying out site inspections, audits, surveillance and quality assessments.
  • Strong understanding of NCR management, corrective actions and quality close-out processes.
  • Experience working directly with subcontractors, construction teams, engineers and project management.
  • Ability to review and understand construction drawings, specifications, Method Statements and technical documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge and influence subcontractors where required.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of quality activities within an assigned area of responsibility.
  • Previous data centre, mission-critical, industrial or other highly regulated construction project experience is highly advantageous.
  • Strong awareness of health, safety and quality requirements within a construction environment.
