Corrugated Structural Designer

We are seeking an exceptional candidate for a Structural Designer role at our Burlington, NC location(s). You will be responsible for the management of design and prototyping of merchandising display projects. This position will involve receiving client briefs, designing packages and displays, providing feedback to material designers/suppliers, and liaising with IFS production team to ensure efficient manufacturability. The Structural Designer works with the Account Managers in presenting the designs to the customer, ensuring the component specifications are achieved.

Specific duties will include:

• Assure that Impact Fulfillment Services, Inc. will consistently deliver products which meet and/or exceed the customer’s expectations
• Design and develop corrugated packaging/displays for current and prospective customers
• Recommend methods of improving new and existing packaging to customers
• Evaluates and implements cost savings opportunities
• Coordinates and interacts with vendor personnel and suppliers
• Organize, plan, and track projects to meet deadlines
• Awareness of industry trends and developments in packaging and structural design
• Some travel is required, to visit other sites and vendors
• Additional duties as may be assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Packaging Science, or equivalent work experience required
• Experience in packaging and POP required
• Work independently and cooperatively in a team environment
• Ability to interpret and work with/on CAD drawings, renderings, samples, etc
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to think and identify opportunities and solutions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluency in English required
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, ArtiosCAD, TOPS, Adobe Creative Cloud
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and effective time management
• Graphic design knowledge a plus
