Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSet up and operate converting machinery, including print and die-cut sections, using established setup procedures
Verify cutting dies are properly secured and inspect all dies before and after production runs
Inspect anilox rolls and other critical components for wear or damage before and after each job
Monitor product quality, ensuring conformance to specifications related to size, print, warp, and structural integrity
Maximize equipment utilization by running machines at optimal speeds and capacities
Train and support operators, assistant operators, and utility personnel on job functions and best practices
Rotate responsibilities with team members as operational needs require
Cross-train on additional converting equipment within the department
Accurately complete production, safety, quality, and machine status documentation
Submit maintenance work orders and communicate repair needs to support production schedules
Provide input on scheduling efficiencies to improve cost, quality, and service performance
Escalate unusual production or scheduling issues to leadership with recommended solutions
Maintain compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience operating converting equipment in the corrugated industry
Skills
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, factory masters, and engineering specifications
Mathematical Skills
Proficient in reading tape measures
Ability to calculate fractions, decimals, measurements, volumes, and rates
Comfortable applying standard high school-level math concepts
Reasoning & Leadership Skills
Strong problem-solving ability in structured manufacturing environments
Capable of following written, verbal, and visual instructions
Takes ownership of work and accountability for team performance
Demonstrates resilience, adaptability, and a positive, assertive mindset
Technical Knowledge
Understanding of converting equipment design and operational capabilities
Familiarity with product layouts, quality specifications, and manufacturing standards
Ability to translate specifications into efficient machine operation
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and use of hands
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, and work in physically demanding conditions
Vision requirements include close, distance, , peripheral, and depth perception
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery
Frequent exposure to noise, humidity, and vibration
Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and elevated work areas
Hearing protection and other PPE required
