Job DescriptionJob DescriptionVIP Staffing is immediately hiring a Controls Technician for a leading organization in Albuquerque, NM This is a Full Time Temp to hire positionSchedule is Monday - Friday 6am-2:30 pm and Saturdays 5 or 6 am to 10am or 12 pm(as needed)Pay for this position is: $19-$21 per hour
As a Controls Technician you will:

• Install, wire, and program PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers) , HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), sensors, relays, and other automation equipment.
• Diagnose and repair control systems, electrical panels, and automated machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on control systems.
• Assist with the design and implemenation of new control systems and upgrades.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and maintenance personnel to optimize system performance.
• Document work performed, including wiring changes, software updates, and equipment upgrades.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, company standards, and applicable codes.

Controls Technician candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certification in Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, or related field .
• 2+ years of experience in controls, automation, or electrical systems in an industrial or manufacturing setting
• Proficient in troubleshooting and programming PLCs
• Familiarity with VFDs, control relays, sensors, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on ladders or elevated platforms as needed.
• Experience with HMI design and configuration ()
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70#) ()
• Previous experience in heavy equipment or custom machinery manufacturing ()
