Job Description

A global engineering group is investing heavily in large-scale plant improvements and the implementation of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies. As Controls Engineer, you will play a key role in integrating new technologies and upgrading legacy control systems across multiple sites. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in emerging technologies and a solid foundation in control systems engineering, along with proficiency in programming such as Python.\n\nThe Role\n\nImprove and optimise equipment uptime, reliability, and efficiency.\n\nImprove processes, programs and procedures.\n\nDevelop self-sustainable trouble-shooting support systems for various machines control system.\n\nAssist in upgrading legacy control systems as and when required.\n\nDeveloping new strategies to monitor machines digitally and to optimise them.\n\nAssist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.\n\nProvide technical expertise to plant personnel including the maintenance team.\n\nMonitor the effectiveness of newly implemented projects.\n\nThe Person\n\nElectrical Engineering Degree with hands on experience of Siemens S7 and/or Allen Bradley PLC’s.\n\nHands on experience as an electrical/control systems engineer.\n\nExperience with high-level programming such as Python.\n\nDemonstrated ability to use root cause analysis/problem solving process.\n\nGood organizational and communication skills.\n\nDemonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple and changing priorities.\n\nDemonstrated track record in driving continuous improvement
