Job Description:
Controls Systems Engineer has the opportunity to develop engine diagnostic systems requirements that meet all regulatory, safety, quality and service regulations. They have the responsibility to ensure that appropriate systems requirements are defined, developed and completed for all engine OBD diagnostic features. They are responsible for developing interfaces and boundaries of various sub-system, engine I/O by working with and coordinating between various cross functional systems requirements team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 2+ years' experience in authoring OBD, engine or emissions systems requirements or calibration or controls
- Understanding of the goals of On-Board Diagnostics, CAN protocol, sensors & actuators.
- Functional understanding of engine and hybrids design and operation.
- Basic proficiency with the major purpose & components in an electrified propulsion system.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and business acumen.
- Self-motivated/proactive with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database applications.
Qualifications
- Master's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years' experience in OBD systems, propulsion system component controls or calibration within the electric, gasoline or diesel industry. DOORS, INCA, Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, ALM working knowledge.
- Understanding of Functional safety goals including ISO 26262.
Additional Information / Must Have's:
- OBD / diagnostics experience
- Functional safety / ISO 26262 experience / FSR's and TSR's knowledge
- Systems requirements development and design knowledge and skill
