Controls Engineer in Wrightstown

We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to design, develop, and support automation systems used in industrial environments. This role will focus on designing control systems, programming PLCs and robotics, and supporting system integration and start-up.

The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance automation solutions while supporting system installation, testing, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Development

  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to understand project requirements and develop automation solutions
  • Design control systems for industrial equipment and automated processes
  • Develop electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and related technical documentation
  • Select and specify field devices, components, and automation hardware

Programming & Configuration

  • Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems
  • Develop and support FANUC robot programming as required
  • Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks, including Ethernet/IP

System Integration & Testing

  • Integrate control systems with conveyors, robotics, and other automated equipment
  • Perform system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during system integration

Installation & Start-Up

  • Support or lead on-site system installation and commissioning activities
  • Work with installation teams to ensure successful equipment startup
  • Provide technical support during system deployment and initial operation
  • Travel locally as needed for field work and system startup

Documentation & Training

  • Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation for control systems
  • Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance personnel

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience working with industrial automation and controls systems
  • Strong experience with PLC programming and HMI development
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols, particularly Ethernet/IP
  • Experience designing control systems including panel design, device selection, and component specification
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex automation environments
  • Familiarity with industrial automation safety standards and regulations
