Controls Engineer to support the Texas Stamping Production Engineering Team, based in San Antonio, Texas.
In this role, you will support Press and Laser Weld processes and projects, working closely with OEMs, commissioning teams, project management, and maintenance. You will play a critical role in the planning, design, installation, start-up, and support of new and modified stamping and laser weld equipment across North American Manufacturing Company (NAMC) stamping shops, with a strong focus on controls systems performance and reliability.
What You’ll Be Doing

Partner with laser weld OEMs and commissioning teams to ensure equipment is designed and installed in compliance with Toyota specifications

Support and develop Siemens PLC, Servo, and HMI programming for stamping and laser weld equipment

Provide on-site commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting support for new and modified equipment

Learn, document, and standardize laser weld and stamping equipment setup and programming methods

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and controls documentation

Train and support team members and maintenance technicians on equipment modifications and controls standards

Communicate effectively with Project Management, Maintenance, and cross-functional stakeholders

Support shop floor troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and Kaizen activities
What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant work experience

Hands-on experience with Siemens PLC programming (Step 7)

Experience with Siemens Simotion Servo Drive programming using Scout software

Siemens HMI programming experience

Proven background in equipment installation and commissioning

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Strong teamwork skills with a collaborative, problem-solving mindset

Clear and effective verbal and written communication with both technical teams and management
Bonus Points If You Have

Knowledge of the Toyota Production System (TPS)

Experience with laser weld systems or automated manufacturing equipment

Strong ladder logic programming skills
