Job DescriptionJob Description
SCADAware is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our water and wastewater automation team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can manage control system projects from concept to completion while helping municipalities and industrial clients optimize water and wastewater operations.
Key Responsibilities

Manage water and waste water control system projects from initial concept through final commissioning and handoff

Meet with customers to understand system requirements and operational needs

Support project estimation and quotation development

Design and engineer custom PLC and SCADA systems for water and waste water applications
-
Program PLC systems and develop HMI/SCADA applications (FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Wonderware, or similar)
-
Build and program complete automation systems in-house
-
Simulate, test, and debug systems prior to deployment

Install and commission systems at customer sites
-
Provide technical support remotely and on-site
-
Prepare technical specifications, design guides, and operation & maintenance manual

Maintain project schedules and manage multiple active projects

Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least five years of project engineering/project management experience in control integration projects
-
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Strong proficiency in PLC programming
-
Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms (FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Wonderware, or similar)

Proficiency in at least one programming
-
Working knowledge of industrial communications and networking
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
-
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
-
Professional demeanor with strong customer-facing skills
Qualifications

Experience with relational databases
-
Background in computer programming (C#, Python, or similar)

Experience in municipal or industrial water/wastewater automation
