Job DescriptionJob Description

SCADAware is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our water and wastewater automation team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can manage control system projects from concept to completion while helping municipalities and industrial clients optimize water and wastewater operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage water and waste water control system projects from initial concept through final commissioning and handoff

• Meet with customers to understand system requirements and operational needs

• Support project estimation and quotation development

• Design and engineer custom PLC and SCADA systems for water and waste water applications

• Program PLC systems and develop HMI/SCADA applications (FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Wonderware, or similar)

• Build and program complete automation systems in-house

• Simulate, test, and debug systems prior to deployment

• Install and commission systems at customer sites

• Provide technical support remotely and on-site

• Prepare technical specifications, design guides, and operation & maintenance manual

• Maintain project schedules and manage multiple active projects

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least five years of project engineering/project management experience in control integration projects

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

• Strong proficiency in PLC programming

• Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms (FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Wonderware, or similar)

• Proficiency in at least one programming

• Working knowledge of industrial communications and networking

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

• Professional demeanor with strong customer-facing skills

Qualifications

• Experience with relational databases

• Background in computer programming (C#, Python, or similar)

• Experience in municipal or industrial water/wastewater automation
