Location: Monett, MO
Schedule: Day Shift
Salary: $90,000–$100,000/year
Position Overview
This Controls Engineer role focuses on PLC programming and advanced electrical control systems within automated manufacturing environments. The position emphasizes mechatronics-style responsibilities, including system design, electrical integration, and hands-on troubleshooting across electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, modify, and support PLC systems for automated equipment and processes
- Design, update, and improve electrical and control systems
- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems with a strong emphasis on electrical controls
- Support internal teams and customer issues, often through remote troubleshooting
- Work with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and servo drives
- Develop and interpret ladder logic diagrams
- Design and modify electrical control panels
- Utilize CAD tools for electrical schematics and system layouts
- Support and integrate robotic systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership
- Take ownership of projects and remain engaged until issues are fully resolved
Qualifications
- Strong background in controls engineering with a mechatronics-focused skill set
- Hands-on experience programming PLCs
- Knowledge of VFDs, servo drives, and motion control systems
- Experience with ladder logic and electrical schematics
- Proficiency with CAD for electrical design
- Experience with robotics, panel design, and automation systems
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Ability to lead and support others
- Strong work ethic with a mindset focused on completing the job
