We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer with expertise in either hardware or software controls to support the design, development, testing, and implementation of advanced automation and manufacturing systems within a fast-paced automotive environment. This role plays a key part in improving production efficiency, machine reliability, and overall plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and modify electrical control systems for automotive manufacturing equipment.Create and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and hardware BOMs.Specify components such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, safety devices, and control panels.Support machine builds, commissioning, and troubleshooting on the plant floor.Ensure compliance with electrical codes, NFPA standards, and customer specifications.Develop, test, and implement PLC, HMI, and robotics programming for automated equipment.Perform debug, optimization, and troubleshooting of software for new and existing machinery.Work with cross-functional teams to integrate new equipment and processes.Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.Maintain and revise control logic for improved quality, uptime, and throughput.Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineering teams to support project timelines.Participate in design reviews, feasibility studies, and system validation.Provide technical support during machine start-up, testing, PPAP, and production launch.Document all controls-related work including programs, revisions, and standard operating procedures.Ensure compliance with plant safety standards and industry regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).Experience with automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments .Proficiency in one or more: Allen-Bradley / Siemens PLCs, Fanuc / ABB robot programming, HMI development, servo/drive systems, AutoCAD Electrical.Strong troubleshooting abilities with both mechanical and electrical systems.Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork skills.
