Cullerton Group has a new direct-hire opportunity forĀ a Controls Engineer III supporting one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in the Indianapolis area

Our client is a leading engineering and systems integration firm providing automation, controls, validation, MES, SCADA, and process engineering services throughout North America.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of automation projects supporting manufacturing operations, process improvements, system upgrades, and capital projects within a highly regulated production environment.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of automation and control systems

Develop and support PLC, HMI, DCS, SCADA, and MES applications

Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing operations and project teams

Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex automation and process control issues

Support capital projects, system upgrades, and manufacturing improvements

Participate in commissioning, startup, qualification, and validation activities

Develop automation standards, documentation, and best practices

Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance when needed

Support customer and stakeholder communications throughout project execution

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field
  • 5-10+ years of experience in industrial automation, process control, or manufacturing systems
  • Strong experience with DeltaV, PLCs, HMIs, DCS, and SCADA platforms
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies:
  • Emerson DeltaV
  • Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation
  • FactoryTalk
  • Siemens
  • PCS7
  • Wonderware
  • PlantPAx
  • iFIX
  • Experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and process documentation
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, food & beverage, or other regulated manufacturing environments
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project execution skills

Additional Information

Based in Indianapolis supporting multiple manufacturing sites throughout the region

Travel is generally limited and typically does not exceed 25%

Strong project pipeline with opportunities to support large-scale automation initiatives
