Job DescriptionJob Description

Design, develop, and support electrical controls systems for custom industrial automation equipment. This role works closely with engineering and applications teams from concept through installation and commissioning.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical control systems and develop PLC programs in accordance with standard engineering practices, NEC codes, and customer scope of work.
  • Program, debug, and support PLC and HMI systems (Toyopuc and Allen-Bradley ).
  • Integrate and program robotic systems and machine vision platforms.
  • Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations related to electrical design, motor controls, and robotic safety standards.
  • Review mechanical and electrical designs and prepare materials, labor, and time estimates.
  • Support Application Engineering with pre-sales technical concepts and budgeting.
  • Support manufacturing and system validation, including pneumatics, servomotors, VFDs, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, and robot integration.
  • Create customer-facing documentation including user manuals, electrical drawings, programming diagrams, and network diagrams.
  • Travel: Oversee system installation and provide customer training as needed (approximately 25% travel).


Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant controls or automation experience (automotive industry experience ).
  • Hands-on experience with PLC and HMI programming (Toyopuc and Allen-Bradley ).
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, electrical design, and mechanical interfaces.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
