Job DescriptionJob DescriptionControls Engineer Company OverviewFull service mid-sized engineering consulting firm located in Columbus, Ohio offering services to industrial and commercial clients nationwide. The majority of the industrial services have been provided to clients in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and manufacturing industry requiring process and facility design, construction guidance, and startup assistance. A project driven work environment that is fast paced yet friendly and casual while focusing on client satisfaction. The client base is 90% industrial and 10% commercial work. Responsibilities We are currently looking for an experienced Control Engineer to develop and commission industrial factory automation systems. The Control Engineer will develop PLC systems including panel design, PLC program and HMI development. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team that provides integrated services to meet our clients’ needs both locally and across the globe. A good candidate is a proven self-starter with technical skills who can recognize client needs and offer solutions effectively. This Control Engineer is responsible for performing duties on assigned projects including:

  • Programming
  • HMI Screen Development
  • IO Checkout
  • Start-Up
  • Commissioning

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of controls experience
  • Experience with the following:
    • Rockwell Software Studio 5000
    • FactoryTalk View
    • FactoryTalk Batch
    • Schneider Electric Unity software
    • VFDs and servo drives
    • Ethernet networks
    • Instrumentation, sensors, pneumatic devices
    • Control panel design
  • Competent in the use of ACAD and Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Excels when working in a project team environment
  • Willing to travel to client construction sites as needed
  • Willing to work overtime as needed
