Responsibilities

The Controls Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving manufacturing equipment in a dynamic automotive environment:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining equipment controls standards
  • Provide hands-on launch support and ongoing production support
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues
  • Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Integrated Product Development environment to meet project goals and equipment readiness
  • Participate in preventive maintenance planning and implementation
  • Actively research and apply new programming and troubleshooting techniques for advanced equipment systems
  • Mentor technicians and peers on control systems, troubleshooting methods, and product-specific knowledge
  • Other duties as assigned


Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of controls engineering within a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of PLC platforms
  • Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with the ability to interpret related schematics
