We’re seeking a Controls Engineer/Automation Technician to join our high-performance maintenance and engineering team. Precision metal-stamping and die shop at its best delivering quality craftsmanship, cutting edge tooling, and on-time delivery! This is your chance to apply your expertise in automation and controls to maintain, improve, and innovate around the systems that keep our presses running — and our customers satisfied.
What You’ll Do:
- Support and optimize press systems, feed lines, transfer automation, and die-sensing technology through advanced controls and electrical troubleshooting.
- Program, modify, and maintain:
- PLC systems (primarily Allen Bradley and Omron)
- HMI interfaces (Pro-face, Rockwell)
- Vision systems (Keyence, Cognex)
- Sensors, VFDs, and motor control systems
- Work closely with Tool & Die and Production teams to ensure seamless die operation, safety interlocks, and real-time process feedback.
- Lead or assist in electrical design, automation upgrades, and new equipment installations.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance efforts by diagnosing controls-related equipment failures and implementing solutions.
- Maintain detailed documentation on schematics, programs, and equipment specifications.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent field experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with industrial controls in a metal stamping or manufacturing environment.
- Deep working knowledge of press automation, PLC/HMI programming, safety circuits, and electrical panel work.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and ladder logic diagrams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-precision production environment.
