An exciting opportunity for a Controls and Automation Engineer is available a growing manufacturing company in the Newcastle area



EXCITING ROLE



The role will involve integrating sensor, machine learning and predictive analytics systems, managing electrical control and instrumentation projects, supporting the maintenance team and drive the adoption of digital industry technologies such as IoT, AI, ML etc. You will contribute to the strategic engineering roadmap and train maintenance staff on machine control systems.



You will also interpret, generate, and manage electrical engineering drawings and documentation (schematics, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, SLDs, cable schedules, load schedules, IO lists, test schedules) and lead cross-functional project teams.



YOUR SKILLS



A Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Automation, Control Systems or Mechatronics is although good experience in a dedicated role of this field will also be considered. You will need to be familiar with BS:7671 18th Edition and have a good knowledge of PUWER, ATEX, EN IEC and BS EN 60204 standards. Experience with control systems (ideally Siemens TIA Portal or similar), motor control systems (MCCs, DOL, VFD, soft start), automation simulation software (ABB, Yaskawa etc.) and network protocols (PLC and LabVIEW) is needed. You will also need good problem solving and communication skills with experience of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing methodologies



Any experience of C++, C#, Python, Solidworks or factory simulation software would be an advantage
