Were a growing commercial electrical subcontractor known for delivering high-quality work across a variety of projectsfrom large-scale commercial projects to complex tenant improvements. Our team is made up of driven professionals who take pride in what they do, and were looking for a Controller to help take our financial operations to the next level.
Position Summary:
As Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the companys operations. This includes managing day-to-day accounting functions, job costing, cash flow, budgeting, and reporting. Youll work closely with leadership to provide financial insight that supports smart, strategic decision-making and helps drive continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all accounting operations, including AR, AP, payroll, GL, and bank reconciliations
- Develop and maintain accurate job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Monitor cash flow, manage budgets, and forecast financial performance
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax regulations
- Oversee audits, tax preparation, and financial compliance activities
- Evaluate and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and systems
- Collaborate with project managers to analyze job performance and profitability
- Provide strategic financial input to support business decisions
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience; construction industry experience strongly
- Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, and percent-complete accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a small accounting team
