Controller - Construction in Kansas City

Fast growing Kansas City construction-related company seeks an experienced Controller to help design and build the financial infrastructure that supports their growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a comprehensive understanding of corporate accounting practices.

Duties

• Month-end and year-end close - journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals
• External audit support - schedules, reconciliations, documentation
• Consolidated financial statements across a multi-entity organizational structure
• Variance analysis and management commentary
• Revenue recognition compliance under ASC606 - percent-of-completion billing, WIP schedule maintenance
• Intercompany accounting, related-party transactions and elimination entries
• Corporate, business development and administrative expense review and analysis
• Process improvements and reporting enhancements
• Cash flow statements, management packages and supporting schedules

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Construction experience is a must
• Demonstrated expertise in account analysis and general ledger reconciliation.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex financial information.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
