Job DescriptionControl Systems Engineer East Lancashire Automation Projects / PLC Software £55-65k + Overtime + Healthcare + Profit ShareSamuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join a successful and expanding engineering business in East Lancashire. This Control Systems Engineer position will suit someone who enjoys developing control software from scratch, taking ownership of projects and seeing their work through from concept to commissioning.The successful Control Systems Engineer will become part of a highly skilled engineering team delivering bespoke automation and special purpose machinery projects across a wide range of industrial sectors. This is a varied Control Systems Engineer role where youll be involved in much more than software development, with exposure to customer interaction, machine build activities and site commissioning.Key aspects of the Control Systems Engineer role include;Developing PLC and HMI software from scratch for bespoke automation projectsWorking with Siemens, Allen Bradley / Rockwell and Mitsubishi control platforms (experience of all three isnt required)Delivering projects through the complete lifecycle from initial design through to final commissioningReviewing electrical designs and contributing to overall system architectureSupporting machine builds, testing activities and Factory Acceptance TestsCarrying out UK and international commissioning work, with overseas trips typically lasting around two weeksDiagnosing and resolving software and electrical faults on automated machineryProducing project documentation and supporting technical recordsWorking closely with customers throughout project deliveryContributing to continuous improvement activities and helping to develop new engineering solutionsPrevious experience required for the Control Systems Engineer position;PLC software development from scratchHMI or SCADA development experienceCommissioning experience on machinery, automation or process systemsElectrical fault finding and troubleshooting capabilityExperience within systems integration, machinery manufacturing or industrial automation environmentsAbility to translate customer requirements into practical control solutionsExperience supporting FAT and site commissioning activitiesThe Control Systems Engineer role is typically split around 60% office based and 40% site based, although this varies depending on project requirements.
