Job Description
Control Systems Engineer
Location: London (Hybrid – home and office)
Salary: Up to £65,500 including allowances and on-call
Contract: Permanent | Full-time (37 hours per week)
A leading organisation is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to support and develop the technology behind mission-critical communication systems used every day to protect and serve the public.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing radio, voice, and control room systems across a large operational network. Working within a high-performing technical team, you’ll ensure that vital systems such as Airwave (TETRA), ICCS, and voice recording technologies remain fully available and secure.
The Role
- Provide expert technical support for operational communications and control room systems.
- Configure, integrate, and maintain Airwave, ICCS, and related radio infrastructure.
- Manage incidents, troubleshoot faults, and ensure service levels are met.
- Liaise with suppliers, engineers, and partner agencies to deliver system reliability and performance.
- Maintain compliance with security and operational standards.
About You
- Experienced in mission-critical communications or control systems engineering.
- Hands-on knowledge of TETRA / Airwave, ICCS, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of RF principles, system configuration, and integration testing.
- Confident managing incidents and change in a live operational environment.
- Qualified to degree level (or equivalent experience) in IT, Telecommunications, or Engineering.
- Ideally certified in ITIL Foundation and/or ICCS Administration.
