Control System Engineer

Job Description

Are you a Control Systems Engineer who enjoys variety and wants more balance in your week?\n\nThis could be the role for you if you're someone who likes seeing a project through from start to finish, enjoys hands-on engineering, and prefers not to have every day feel the same. You’ll be working with Siemens PLCs, developing code from scratch on smaller, bespoke automation projects. Most of the work is within logistics and materials handling, but because each solution is built to fit, no two jobs are exactly alike.

If you’ve had experience across different industries or enjoy building tailored systems, this setup will likely appeal.\n\nThe role offers hybrid working, so you can spend most of your time at home, with occasional travel to customer sites for commissioning, servicing, or upgrades. It’s a good balance between remote programming and on-site involvement, helping you stay hands-on and connected to the projects you work on.\n\nRight now, support is provided Monday to Friday, though the company plans to introduce more comprehensive client cover in the future. While that might eventually include a shared, flexible approach to 24/7 support, it won’t happen overnight, and any changes will be planned and gradual.

They’re simply looking for someone open to being part of that conversation as the team evolves.\n\nOne of the standout things about this company is their approach to work-life balance. You’ll have the freedom to shape your hours around personal commitments, whether that’s school runs, appointments, or just preferring a quieter start to your day. The salary on offer is between £45,000 and £65,000, depending on your experience.\n\nIf you have solid Siemens experience and like the idea of working across the full project lifecycle, this could be a great fit.
