Controls Engineer – Industrial Automation

We are currently supporting a growing industrial automation and systems integration business that is looking to hire talented Controls Engineers to join its expanding engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who enjoys hands-on engineering, solving complex automation challenges and working on high-impact industrial projects across a variety of manufacturing and production environments.

You will play a key role in delivering automation solutions from software development through to onsite commissioning and production support, working closely with both customers and internal engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and program control systems using Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC platforms
• Support onsite commissioning, integration, startup and testing activities
• Troubleshoot and optimise automation systems within live production environments
• Work directly with customers, vendors and project teams throughout project delivery
• Maintain project documentation including task tracking, issue management and closeout reporting
• Provide regular project and engineering updates to management
• Support continuous improvement and system optimisation initiatives

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience within Controls Engineering or Industrial Automation
• Strong PLC programming and controls software development experience
• Experience with Siemens platforms is highly desirable
• Previous field integration or commissioning experience
• Electrical design knowledge is beneficial
• Robotics or automated manufacturing experience is an advantage
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% across North America
• Valid driver’s licence required
