Job Description
Bennett and Game are currently working with a leading scaffolding contractor based in Birmingham who work on project across the West Midlands. They offer both commercial and domestic scaffolding, short-term hire and long-term project scaffolding. Their team hold all the relevant safety accreditations (CITB, CSCS, CISRS), and they pride themselves on reliability, safety, competitive pricing, and strong customer relationships.\n\nWe are working in partnership with our client to recruit a Contracts Manager who will play a pivotal role in driving growth, maintaining high standards of delivery, and expanding their client base.
The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with relationship building, contract negotiation and operational oversight.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead and manage all aspects of contract administration from tender stage through to final account, ensuring contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.\nIdentify, develop, and win new business opportunities; nurture and maintain existing client relationships to secure repeat work.\nLiaise closely with clients (public and private sector), project teams, site supervisors, and supply chain partners to ensure smooth project delivery.\nNegotiate contract terms and pricing; manage risk and ensure contracts are commercially sound.\nForecast revenue, manage cash flows, prepare cost reports, monitor profitability of contracts.\nEnsure compliance with relevant health, safety and quality standards; ensure all staff are aware of regulatory and certification requirements.\nOversee contract changes, variations, dispute resolution and claims management.\nProduce regular reports for senior management on contract status, financial performance, pipeline, risks, and opportunities. \n\nCandidate Requirements\n\nSolid experience in scaffolding, industrial access, or construction industry, with proven track record in managing contracts.\nStrong network of contacts within the construction sector, ideally including relationships that can generate new client leads.\nDemonstrable commercial mindset: able to price work accurately, manage costs, deliver profitability.\nExcellent negotiation skills.\nGood knowledge of contract types (JCT, NEC or similar) and risk management.\nStrong leadership skills, excellent communication (written and verbal).\nOrganised, self-motivated, able to manage multiple contracts/projects concurrently.\nCommitment to safety and regulatory compliancePackage\n\nCompetitive salary (commensurate with experience)\nPackage includes performance-based incentives / bonus for business development / contract profitability (to be discussed)\nOpportunity to shape the role, have real influence in growth strategy\nAutonomy to build and manage relationships, with backing of a stable, reputable scaffolding business\nWorking with a safety-driven, accredited, high-quality providerBennett & Game Recruitment are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy. \n\nBennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.\n\nWe are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy, and in accordance with GDPR by applying you are granting us consent to process your data, contact you about the services we offer, and submit your CV for the role you have applied for
