Contracts Manager

We are working alongside a reputable contractor based in Aberdeen who is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Contracts Manager to oversee multiple civil engineering projects from pre-construction to completion. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role, ensuring that contracts are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably, in line with company standards and client expectations.



Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the delivery of multiple civil engineering contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, specifications, and health and safety regulations

• Lead project planning, programming, and coordination of labour, subcontractors, plant, and materials

• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams

• Monitor project progress and financial performance, identifying and mitigating risks and resolving issues as they arise

• Ensure timely reporting on project milestones, costs, resourcing, and health and safety performance

• Assist in tender reviews, contract negotiation, and the development of project delivery strategies

• Foster a positive safety culture and uphold company standards across all operational activities

• Support and develop site teams, ensuring high levels of performance and morale

• Monitor staff performance and undertake staff appraisals

• Agree and deliver on KPI’s and annual targets



Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager (or similar senior project management role) in the civil engineering and/or multi-utility sector

• Proven track record in successfully delivering civil engineering projects

• Strong understanding of NEC and other standard forms of contract

• Sound knowledge of construction methods, planning and health and safety regulations

• Commercially astute with excellent financial and contractual awareness

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

• Display a positive attitude, strong work ethic and be self-motivated and able to work independently or within a team

• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office packages

• Full UK driving licence

• Legal right to work in the UK without restrictions (no sponsorship available)

• Technical qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field would be beneficial
