Contracts Manager – Rail & Construction Projects

Location: Office-based near Newark & Grantham (Easily commutable from Nottingham, Lincoln, Peterborough)

Salary: Up to £60,000 + 25 days holiday, pension, free parking

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:00pm

  

About Us

We’re a well-established contractor working closely with a large Rail company on long-term frameworks across stations, depots, offices, and operational buildings. We take pride in delivering high-quality refurbishment and construction projects safely, on time, and within budget.

With a growing pipeline of work, we’re now looking for a Commercial Manager to join our friendly, close-knit team. You’ll play a key role in managing contracts, driving profitability, and ensuring everything runs smoothly from contract award through to final account.

What You’ll Be Doing



Managing the full commercial lifecycle of rail building refurbishment projects

Preparing and negotiating contracts, managing variations, and tracking costs

Producing accurate forecasts, cost reports, and financial summaries

Working closely with site and project teams to monitor progress and performance

Overseeing subcontractor agreements, performance, and payments

Supporting bids, tenders, and business development activity

Ensuring compliance with commercial, health & safety, and quality standards   

What We’re Looking For



Experienced Commercial Manager or Contracts Manager

Background in construction, civils, or rail infrastructure

Strong knowledge of building contracts and commercial frameworks

Confident negotiator with great attention to detail

Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple live projects
