We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contract Project Manager (Automation) to join our customer on a long-term project based in Hertfordshire.\n\nAs our client is considered exempt for IR35 purposes, the successful candidate will be responsible for assessing IR35 status should you wish to operate via your own PSC.\n\nOur customer is a well-established and growing provider of warehouse automation and systems integration solutions, delivering complex, high-value projects across logistics, manufacturing, and distribution environments. Due to continued growth and multiple project wins, they are seeking an experienced contractor to support the delivery of several large-scale automation programmes.\n\nAs a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle delivery of automation projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This will involve close collaboration with design, installation, commissioning, and client teams across multiple sites.\n\nKey Skills / Experience Required\n\nContract Project Manager Automation, based in Hertfordshire\n\nProven experience as a Project Manager within automation, intralogistics, or material handling environments\n\nStrong background delivering projects involving technologies such as conveyors, ASRS, shuttle systems, AMRs, robotics, or warehouse automation solutions\n\nExperience managing multiple stakeholders including internal teams, subcontractors, and end clients\n\nDemonstrable experience managing project budgets, timelines, risk, and resource allocation\n\nStrong understanding of full project lifecycle from design through to installation and commissioning\n\nAbility to coordinate multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering functions\n\nExperience working within systems integrators or automation solution providers highly desirable\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels\n\nQualifications / Training\n\nRelevant engineering or project management qualification desirable\n\nPrince2, APM, PMP or equivalent - advantageous\n\nSMSTS or equivalent site-based safety certification - beneficial\n\nFor more information or to apply for this Contract Project Manager (Automation) position in Hertfordshire, please contact Kieran Pratt at (url removed)\n\nOr call (phone number removed), quoting reference KDP1055
