An aerospace electronics manufacturer is hiring a Power Electronics Engineer to take a spacecraft payload power supply through to final flight design. You’ll own the design and analysis from current baseline through to flight.
The program is live. What’s needed is an engineer who has designed high-power converters for flight, backs every design with their own analysis, and can work remotely without waiting to be told what to do next.
What you’ll be doing
Complete final flight designs for the spacecraft payload power supply, baselining Coilcraft CPS series magnetics
Run EMI filter simulations to MIL-STD-461 CE101 and RE102
Perform worst case circuit analysis per EEE-INST-002 Class 3 derating, using client-provided EOL parameters
Cover parts stress, power dissipation, DC regulation, transient analysis and stability
Provide power supply noise content data for the TCM and FPSM subsystems
What you’ll need
Degree in Electrical Engineering
8+ years of power electronics design experience
Phase-shifted full-bridge DC-DC converter design above 1800W
Transformer and magnetics design
Payload power architecture design
SPICE simulation, schematic and PCB design capture, electronic test and power supply design
Analog and digital electronics, plus space hardware integration, test and verification
Clear communication, including presenting technical material in design reviews
US-based and eligible to work in the US
Nice to have
Flight heritage on NASA or commercial spacecraft power systems
WCCA, parts stress and FMECA experience on flight programs
LTspice, PLECS, Altium Designer or Ansys Maxwell
Prior contract or independent consulting work, so you can land and add value fast
