We are looking for a Contract Engineer with the following details :
- Location : Suriname
- Working Scheme: Rotational 6/3 (6 weeks on/3 weeks off), based on seven (7) worked days per week, with eight (8) hours of work per day
- Planned Start Date : Oct 2026
- Duration : 12 months, renewable
Qualifications / Experience required
- Master's degree in procurement discipline or other equivalent;
- Advanced level in contract writing and negotiation required;
- Good working knowledge of C&P tools (SAP, Ariba, Agora, Sequana) required;
- Professional experience 7-10 years in contracts within the O&G industry, mainly within the COMPANY
- Relevant experience in contracting rigs, drilling and wells services, marine logistics services (Platform Supply Vesses, Achor Handling Tug Supply vessels, Tugs and Barges, Marine Agency services, Bunkering and Fuel Supply…) will be strongly preferred
- Personal abilities : Planning, organizing and coordination proven abilities, basic management, project management, problem-solving capacities, rigor, efficient human relationships, result-oriented, ability to work under pressure with limited supervision, ability to work efficiently alone and in teams;
- Knowledge of procurement for drilling/wells required;
- Knowledge of Company and Group standards and procedures;
- Proficiency in oral and written English
Description of the SERVICES:
- The objective is to prepare tenders, conduct evaluations of received bids with internal stakeholders, negotiate with bidders, and finalize/issue contracts and purchase orders in respect of all Company rules.
- The service requires the ability to lead cross functional teams consisting of business end users, contract owners, finance, HSE, and legal colleagues in the end-to-end sourcing process.
- Report to the Contract and Procurement Lead Logistics and Drilling & Wells, Contract Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end contracting lifecycle covering both Drilling & Wells Services and Marine Logistics & Offshore Support Vessels.
Specific Activities:
Contracting Strategy & Commercial Leadership
- Develop and implement procurement and contracting strategies supporting offshore drilling and marine operations.
- Recommend fit-for-purpose contracting models that balance operational requirements, cost optimization and risk management.
- Support long-term procurement planning for drilling campaigns and logistics activities.
- Identify opportunities for commercial improvement and value creation.
Contracts and purchase orders planning and management
- Carry out the work in strict compliance with Company rules and policies, JV and PSC requirements as well as relevant applicable laws and regulations (including tax and customs regulations); and promote Company values at all times;
- Deliver quality, cost-effective and time efficient contracts and Purchase orders to Technical entities, as required in a pro-active manner; but also be able to react quickly and efficiently in case of operational changes and breakdown situations;
- Participate in the optimization of the economic performance of the operations performed by the affiliate.
- Participate to the definition and implementation of the affiliate's contract and procurement strategy (Master Procurement Plan, 3C …);
- Prepare and conduct call for tenders in an efficient and pro-active manner, in order to meet operational schedule within the budget;
- Plan and perform thorough negotiations with suppliers to drive cost efficiencies for all contracts, in accordance with cost performance objectives;
- Prepare and present cases to Local affiliate Contracts Committee (CC), Contracts Boards and Branch CC where applicable;
- Ensure global frame contracts are implemented in the affiliate, and negotiate local frame contracts as necessary to ensure smooth operations;
- Challenge and ensure the team have applied both technical and commercial optimization in any contract/procurement strategy by applying thorough scope demand management, standardized specifications and cost consciousness;
- Coordinate interactions between multiple stakeholders e.g. asset, end users, finance, HSE, legal, TGP, affiliate management on C&P related matters;
- Ensure the good administration, filing and update of all the documents in SAP, Agora and the SharePoint;
Relationship Management (SRM)
- Facilitate effective Supplier Relationship Management, including engagement with TGP to establish Key Performance Indicators with relevant suppliers;
- Contribute to manage the suppliers prequalification process and maintain the suppliers database with special attention to risk management, in liaison with TGP relevant categories;
- Contribute to organize SQM and performance monitoring for key suppliers. Ensure the due implementation of lessons learned to future contracts and operations.
Market Intelligence and Reporting
- Conduct market intelligence activities to ensure Company has proper benchmarks for related categories; in liaison with TGP and other affiliates
