Job Title: Contingent Battery Technician

Location:  Oklahoma City, OK 

Duration:  6 months

Pay rate:  $14-$16.26

Job Description:

Job Summary:

• As a Contingent Battery Technician, you will receive training as you work under the supervision of a production team to work with electric vehicle battery packs to complete requirements from the operator.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Adherence to all company policies such as attendance.
• Follow all safety protocols such as wearing proper PPE (Reflective Vest, Steel Toe Shoes or Boots, Approved Respirators, Protective Gloves, and Safety Glasses).
• Sort materials.
• Disassemble batteries and battery packs.
• Utilize test equipment to evaluate battery performance and identify performance issues.
• Replace defective parts.
• Assist with repair and refurbishment of batteries.
• Package and secure battery packs or battery parts to prepare for shipping.
• Provide minor diagnostic work to determine root cause of non-working batteries.
• Provide repair to refurbish vehicle batteries for redeployment.
• Basic knowledge of the company Quality Management System components.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

• Organizational skills required.
• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
• Ability to pass and maintain a clear background and negative drug test.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent .
• All contractors will be required to have and wear steel toe or composite work boots every day starting on their first day.
• PPE such as vests, shirts, gloves, and basic safety glasses will be provided and must be worn at all times.
• Physical Requirements:
• This is a physical position and requires the following:
• Individual lifting up to 50 pounds and the use of team lifting or lifting equipment to lift up to 137 pounds.
• Constant sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, lifting.
• Good hand and finger dexterity.
• Good hand and eye coordination.
• Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes to meet business requirements under safety guidelines.

Work Environment:

• This position is performed in a warehouse which may or may not be temperature-controlled.
• Contractors may be exposed to dust and fumes on a regular basis.
• Contractors may have to be outside some of the time to perform the full lifecycle of the position requirements.
