Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Assistant Ecologist to join a well-established, independent consultancy based in Birmingham. This position is ideal for an Assistant Ecologist who is ready to progress their career and move into a Consultant Ecologist position.\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\n * Competitive salary, dependent on experience\n\n * 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays\n\n * Flexible and hybrid working options\n\n * Company pension scheme\n\n * Free access to the Alpha Works gym\n\n * Structured career growth support\n\n * TOIL for surveys undertaken during the summer\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Conducting protected species surveys (bats, great crested newts, reptiles, birds)\n\n * Contributing to the production of tenders and quotations\n\n * Producing technical reports (PEA, BNG, species reports, etc)\n\n * Managing small to medium-sized projects\n\nWhat You'll Need:\n\n * A degree in ecology or related discipline\n\n * Minimum 2 years’ consultancy experience\n\n * Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation\n\n * Protected species license ( but, not needed)\n\n * CIEEM membership ()\n\n * Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy\n\n * Excellent written and verbal communication skills\n\n * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for fieldwork within West Midlands\n\nIf interested, please get in touch with Beth Steeds, at Henry Gunn ((phone number removed))
