Construction Area Supervisors – Dalry, Ayrshire (7-Month Contract, On-Site)


Location: Dalry, Ayrshire

Contract Length: 7 months to start – likely to extend

Working Hours: 55 hours/week, Monday to Friday

IR35: Inside IR35

Start Date: ASAP


Belcan Workforce Solutions is seeking 5 x Construction Area Supervisors to support a major project for a leading UK construction and engineering group in Dalry, Ayrshire. This is initially a 7-month fixed-term contract, fully site-based, offering the opportunity to work on a high-value, complex project in a regulated environment. The role has been deemed Inside of IR35 and paying competitively on an hourly paid based basis.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate construction activities within designated areas.
  • Support the site construction manager and discipline supervisors.
  • Ensure safe and efficient execution of works in compliance with industry standards.
  • Attend daily meetings (whiteboard, SIMPOS, shift handovers) and coordinate activities accordingly.
  • Maintain site hygiene and coordinate logistics.
  • Conduct rolling two-week look-aheads to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor progress, maintain daily diaries, and ensure plant safety.
  • Participate in four-week look-ahead planning and propose mitigations.
  • Conduct safety and quality audits (PTW, POWRA, RAMS).
  • Monitor compliance in PPE, access/egress, waste management.
  • Review engineering designs and documentation.
  • Monitor temporary works (lighting, scaffolding, power, barriers).
  • Update site access systems (e.g., Biosite).
  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Actively participate in health and safety planning and interventions.
  • Assist area leads and support resolution of emerging quality issues.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Trade-based qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds).
  • CSCS Gold Card (minimum).
  • SSSTS (minimum), ideally SMSTS.
  • Significant experience supervising complex industrial projects.
  • TWS (Temporary Works Supervisor) certification is advantageous.
