Construction Superintendent in Dallas

Job DescriptionJob Description

About Ambercrest Construction
Ambercrest Construction LLC is a fast growing commercial general contractor based in Dallas, specializing in public sector and institutional renovation and construction. We are a certified SBE and Texas HUB firm with a growing portfolio of K-12, municipal, and institutional projects. Our team is built on safety, integrity, and professionalism, and we invest in people who want to grow their careers alongside the company.

Why Join Us
This is a role for an emerging field leader who is ready to step up. At Ambercrest, you will not be one of many superintendents waiting your turn. You will run a real project, work directly with senior leadership, and gain the hands on experience that typically takes years to earn at larger firms. As our company grows, so will your responsibilities, your project portfolio, and your career.

Position Overview
The Construction Superintendent will serve as the on site leader for a Dallas ISD K-12 renovation project. You will coordinate subcontractors, track the schedule, enforce safety standards, and help deliver the project on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. You will be supported and mentored by our Senior Project Manager and leadership team.

Work Schedule
Because this project takes place in an occupied school, much of the work is scheduled outside of normal school hours. This position requires after hours work, including evenings, overnight shifts, and occasional weekends, to minimize disruption to students and staff. Schedule flexibility is essential.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee daily on site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout
  • Coordinate, schedule, and supervise subcontractors and vendors to ensure work follows the contract documents, plans, and specifications
  • Help maintain and update the project schedule, flagging conflicts early
  • Conduct daily site walks and keep detailed daily logs of progress, manpower, weather, and site issues
  • Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and Dallas ISD safety requirements
  • Serve as the link between field operations and the project management team
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and RFIs to ensure accurate field execution
  • Track submittals and material deliveries to protect the schedule
  • Support owner walkthroughs, inspections, and punch list completion
  • Communicate scope gaps, potential change orders, and site conditions to the Project Manager promptly
  • Build positive working relationships with the owner, design team, subcontractors, and inspectors

What We Are Looking For

  • 3 or more years of experience in commercial construction as an Assistant Superintendent, Field Engineer, Foreman, or Superintendent
  • Experience on K-12, public, or institutional projects is a plus
  • Working knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications
  • Comfort with Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar tools (or a willingness to learn quickly)
  • Strong communication skills, a problem solving mindset, and a sense of ownership
  • Willingness to work evenings, overnight, and weekends as the project requires
  • OSHA 30 certification required (or ability to obtain before project start)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a background check, as required for work on Dallas ISD campuses

Who Thrives Here
You are hungry to grow, accountable for your work, and proud of a clean, safe, well run jobsite. You take initiative, ask good questions, and want to build a long term career with a company on the rise.
