Job DescriptionJob Description

Reads, simplifies and explains heavy-civil construction plans & specifications to crews responsible building roads and working on underground utility projects.

Trains new employees on company mission, values, policies, proper work practices & procedures and heavy equipment operation, earthmoving and highway construction techniques.

Educates crew about employee ownership.

Coordinates daily work plan and tasks with owner, or owner’s representative.

Recommends valued added, cost savings or safety changes to improve heavy-civil, underground utility, and mas excavation project outcomes.

Routinely observes and adjusts work practices to maximum daily production, quality work and maintaining a safe work environment on road and highway construction projects, underground utility projects and concrete curb/gutter/paving projects.

Communicates with Project Manager production issues and cost overruns.

Coordinates and supervises daily activities of 10 to 100 people constructing heavy-civil projects (road, highway, underground utility, concrete paving, etc.).

Directs maintenance personnel on heavy equipment repair and maintenance. Prioritizes on site heavy equipment repairs.

Travels to and from company projects.

Using HCSS software, collect, enter and transfers project data (employee & equipment hours, load counts, safety inspections, etc.).
