Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Summary:The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for managing and monitoring safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all employees on construction sites. This role plays a critical part in preventing accidents, reducing risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain the company’s safety program in compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
- Conduct regular job site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure proper procedures are being followed.
- Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to employees and subcontractors on topics such as fall protection, PPE, equipment usage, and emergency procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation, including inspection reports, training records, and incident logs.
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to address safety concerns and ensure a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Stay current on federal, state, and local regulations related to workplace safety and health.
- Lead emergency response planning and drills.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a safety role within the construction industry.
- OSHA 30-hour certification required; CHST, or other relevant safety certifications are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily on active construction sites; exposure to varying weather conditions and construction environments.
- May involve climbing ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Travel between job sites may be required.
