Job DescriptionJob Description
The Construction Safety Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all safety policies, procedures, and training programs across multiple construction projects. This leadership role will ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry best practices while fostering a culture where safety is a core value.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and oversee company-wide safety programs and initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations.
• Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Lead accident and incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for field and office personnel.
• Monitor compliance with project safety requirements.
• Maintain safety documentation, compliance platforms (ISNetworld, Avetta, etc.), records, reports, and regulatory filings.
• Analyze safety metrics and develop strategies to improve performance.
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and executive leadership to promote a safety-first culture.
• Serve as the company's primary liaison with regulatory agencies and clients regarding safety matters.
• Submit and manage Workers' Compensation claims.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field .
• Minimum 7–10 years of construction safety experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and risk management practices.
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification required; OSHA 500 .
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or equivalent certification .
• Experience managing safety programs on commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or heavy construction projects.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites throughout New Jersey and surrounding areas as needed.
