Job DescriptionJob Description

The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and tracking of materials and equipment. Will also be responsible for managing the P.O. system, coordinating field deliveries, and services needed for construction projects. This role requires strong knowledge of the construction industry, vendor coordination, and experience with purchase orders and accounts payable processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure materials, equipment, and services for underground utility and grading projects
• Create, issue, and track purchase orders (POs)
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor agreements
• Review invoices and match them to purchase orders and delivery receipts
• Assist with accounts payable processes, including invoice verification and coding
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency
• Monitor and anticipate material needs
• Resolve discrepancies related to orders, invoices, and deliveries
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
