A DC Government Agency is seeking an experienced Project Supervisor to support a multi-year infrastructure and public safety initiative focused on lead service line replacement and permitting operations throughout the District. This high-impact role provides leadership, operational oversight, and coordination for a consulting team supporting permit review and processing activities tied to the District’s lead-free initiative.

This position is ideal for professionals with strong leadership skills, construction management expertise, and experience managing complex government or infrastructure-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the consulting team supporting permit application reviews and approvals.
  • Review and consolidate team comments associated with DC Water lead line permit applications.
  • Coordinate regularly with agency leadership regarding project updates, staffing concerns, permitting issues, and contract compliance.
  • Provide leadership, technical guidance, and operational direction to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
  • Identify challenges, recommend solutions, and support continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor workflow performance and ensure quality and consistency across all assigned activities.
  • Prepare status reports and communicate project progress to agency stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in:
    • Business
    • Engineering
    • Architecture
    • Construction Management
    • Urban Planning
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in:
    • Construction management; or
    • Supervising and managing teams of five (5) or more employees
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Experience working in government, infrastructure, utilities, transportation, or permitting environments
