\n

Derekhpath is seeking a Project Scheduler/Controller on behalf of a confidential, venture-backed company in the Bay Area.

\n

\n

This role is a strong fit for a construction scheduling professional who enjoys detailed project planning, schedule analysis, risk management, resource coordination, and working closely with project teams to improve execution across multiple active projects.

\n

\n

The Project Scheduler / Controller will help develop, maintain, and improve the scheduling systems that support the company’s construction portfolio. As a Project Scheduler / Controller, you'll be working closely with Project Management, Site Operations, Procurement, leadership, and field teams to keep project scope, sequencing, resources, and key milestones aligned throughout execution.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction schedules using Primavera Cloud, Smartsheet, and related scheduling tools.
  • \n

  • Incorporate project scope, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and field progress into integrated project schedules.
  • \n

  • Support Advanced Work Packaging and Takt Planning approaches to organize work into manageable and executable packages.
  • \n

  • Monitor project progress and identify schedule risks, sequencing conflicts, and potential delays before they affect major milestones.
  • \n

  • Work with project and field teams to develop mitigation plans when schedule risks or delays are identified.
  • \n

  • Track schedule changes, project dependencies, risks, and decisions that affect execution.
  • \n

  • Prepare schedule-performance, progress, and risk reporting for internal stakeholders.
  • \n

  • Facilitate schedule-review meetings and communicate updates across project teams.
  • \n

  • Develop and maintain portfolio-level schedules across multiple active projects or regions.
  • \n

  • Support labor, material, equipment, and resource planning across the project portfolio.
  • \n

  • Track actual project performance and incorporate lessons learned into future schedules.
  • \n

  • Help improve scheduling templates, planning standards, and project-control processes as the company scales.
  • \n

\n

\n

What We’re Looking For

\n

    \n
  • 3+ years of construction project scheduling experience.
  • \n

  • Experience with Primavera P6, Primavera Cloud, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar project-scheduling tools.
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method scheduling and construction sequencing.
  • \n

  • Experience developing, maintaining, and communicating integrated construction schedules.
  • \n

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • \n

  • Comfort working with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, procurement, and leadership.
  • \n

  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, subcontractor management, or procurement is a plus.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with Advanced Work Packaging, Lean, Agile, pull planning, or Takt Planning is a plus.
  • \n

  • Industrialized construction, early-stage company, or construction-trades experience is also helpful.
  • \n

\n

\n

Why This Role

\n

This is a good opportunity for a scheduling professional who wants to do more than simply maintain a project schedule.

\n

\n

The role stays connected to active execution, project risks, resources, field progress, and portfolio planning. The work is focused on creating schedules teams can actually use, identifying issues before they become delays, and improving how projects are planned and delivered as the company grows.

\n

\n

The company offers a competitive salary, equity, medical/dental/vision benefits, and the opportunity to join a team working on a complex physical product with real construction, manufacturing, and field execution behind it.
