About the Role:
The Construction Project Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring safety job sites by managing safety programs, policies, and communication at site stakeholders to ensure a safe work environment on assigned project sites. Reporting to the Safety Manager, this role will work on an assigned project site to help ensure that requirements and reporting are being met according to the projects owner/client. Overnight travel will be required for this role, the current project assignment is in Champlain, NY.
Safety Management
- Enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert (SME) for all safety-related inquiries and concerns on the project site.
- Conduct weekly or as required site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Document and communicate findings to project teams and VP.
- Ensure location is current with site required safety matters, including signage, processes, PPE, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Safety Manager, project managers and site supervisors to address safety concerns and develop safety plans. Reviewing and ensuring the implementation of site-specific safety plans.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Document and communicate findings to Safety Manager.
- Present debrief action plans to project teams and use information to inform general training plans.
- Stay current with industry safety trends, regulations, and best practices.
Data Management, Reporting, and Recordkeeping
- Maintain and update company safety documentation, including safety manuals, injury reports and related documentation, OSHA records, boilerplate reports.
Experience & Qualifications:
- The following are the required experience and qualifications for this role:
- Bachelors degree in occupational health and safety and 3 years of construction safety management experience OR
- 5 years of experience in construction safety management with relevant certifications, including: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or similar (). OR
- 6 years of construction safety management experience and the OSHA 500 certification
- Ability to travel and stay overnight at job sites throughout NYS as assigned.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.

- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
