Project Manager – Large-Scale Construction

San Jose, CA

We are partnering with a well-established general contractor to hire an experienced Project Manager for large-scale construction projects in the San Jose area. This role is ideal for a driven professional with experience managing complex builds valued at $50M+ who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to project teams, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment
• Manage projects using established controls, processes, and procedures
• Lead constructability reviews and coordination efforts across all project phases
• Communicate effectively with owners, construction managers, architects, and subcontractors regarding risk, budgets, schedules, and change management
• Oversee preconstruction efforts including planning, scheduling, estimating, and cost control
• Prepare and present monthly project reports (cost, schedule, safety, and cash flow)
• Drive jobsite safety and quality standards in partnership with field leadership
• Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and protect project profitability
• Partner with accounting teams on billing, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Attend and lead jobsite coordination meetings
• Collaborate with field teams on material procurement, equipment planning, and labor projections

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 3–5 years of Project Management experience on projects valued at $50M+
• Experience working for a general contractor on large commercial or mission-critical projects
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered

Experience

• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
• Strong background in estimating and preconstruction
• Experience coordinating trades and administering subcontracts
• Experience working in a self-performing environment
• Union experience is a plus
• Drywall experience highly
