Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of roadway and traffic control projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role manages project teams, coordinates resources, and serves as the primary point of contact for customers and stakeholders. The Project Manager plays a key role in driving project execution, maintaining compliance, and supporting overall branch operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all projects are executed safely and in compliance with company safety policies
  • Manage projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and quality standards
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and project resources effectively
  • Oversee permits, project plans, and design drawings
  • Develop and manage employee schedules, including accurate time tracking
  • Deliver projects on time while optimizing cost and cash flow
  • Monitor project risks, timelines, and cost variances
  • Support branch operations, including equipment management and DOT compliance
  • Participate in hiring, performance management, and employee development decisions
  • Mentor and develop team members to improve performance and capabilities
  • Communicate project updates, solutions, and direction to customers and stakeholders
  • Provide accurate forecasting for revenue, margins, and project milestones
  • Ensure proper project documentation, including close-out reports
  • Serve as the primary customer contact, resolving issues and maintaining strong relationships

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of management experience, preferably in traffic control, roadway, or construction environments
  • Strong understanding of job costing, variance analysis, and bid vs. actual performance
  • Proven ability to schedule and allocate resources efficiently
  • Experience forecasting revenue and project costs based on backlog and pipeline
  • Familiarity with union environments and labor relations (where applicable)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); ERP experience a plus
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Industry involvement (DOT, trade associations, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
