Project Management will oversee and manage the administrative and field operations for development of projects. This is a salaried position and will be paid based on experience, knowledge, and ability to manage the construction department.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position requires a high attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Project Management is responsible for assigning or delegating responsibilities and communicating expectations. Analyzing department operations and performance in meeting objectives. Must have availability for their team and provide regular feedback and develop subordinate’s skills. Overseeing and ensuring all projects are delivered according to contract specifications, budgets, and schedule. Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with Customers, Owners, Architect, General Contractors, and Subcontractors. In addition to their overall duties, they should create and maintain an atmosphere of growth and development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Work directly with Director of Construction to appoint project personnel; assign responsibilities and communicate expectations for safety, quality, and production.

• Review, verify and understand project contract documents, budget, and schedule upon award and turnover from Estimating. Initiate project folder set-up and relay details to field management team.

• Prepare and oversee project buy-out including submittal preparation, writing of subcontractor scopes, issuing of subcontracts and purchase orders in conjunction with purchasing.

• Manage and track project related job costs including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.

• Analyze project operations and performance to meet objectives and ensure all projects are delivered according to contract specifications, budgets, and schedule.

• Develop and implement corrective action plans to solve project problems.

• Take responsibility for subordinates’ activities, be available for your staff, provide regular feedback and develop subordinates’ skills.

• Lead and facilitate or assist in the resolution of client problems or concerns.

• Meeting and exceeding the expectations and requirements of external and internal customers – working with staff to ensure same.

• Demonstrating role model behaviors, working collaboratively with others; fostering an environment built on SDL Core Values.

• Understand clients’ expectations and needs, and identify cost impacts that may require change order work to ensure profitability.

• Collaborate and maintain communications with SDL Maintenance Department initiation and duration of plant establishment period and property turnover.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors of Construction, Engineering or business degree or equivalent experience and training.

• 3-5 Years of direct field management including the ability to demonstrate confident and goal-oriented leadership.

• Minimum of 3 years experience with general landscape and site amenity construction techniques.

• Minimum of 3 years managing and leading construction production teams.
