Position Overview:
The Project Director provides strategic leadership and oversight for large-scale commercial roofing projects, ensuring operational excellence, profitability, and superior client satisfaction. This role is responsible for guiding multiple project teams, setting performance expectations, managing financial outcomes, and strengthening client relationships across complex project portfolios.
- Project Leadership & Oversight: Provide executive-level oversight of multiple large and complex commercial roofing projects from pre-construction through closeout. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.

Financial Performance & Profitability: Own project financial outcomes, including budgets, forecasts, cost controls, margin performance, and change management. Review and approve major financial decisions to protect profitability and mitigate risk.

Client Relationship Management: Serve as the senior point of contact for key clients and stakeholders. Build long-term relationships by ensuring transparency, responsiveness, and consistent delivery excellence.

Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, and supporting teams. Establish clear expectations, promote accountability, and build a culture of collaboration and performance.

Strategic Decision-Making: Provide strategic guidance on project execution, staffing, sequencing, and risk management. Anticipate challenges and make informed decisions that align with organizational priorities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Estimating, Field Operations, Safety, Accounting, and Executive Leadership to ensure alignment across departments and seamless project execution.

Operational Excellence & Compliance: Ensure projects adhere to company standards, safety regulations, contractual obligations, and quality expectations. Champion continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen project delivery systems and processes.

Risk Management: Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate project risks related to safety, schedule, cost, quality, and contractual exposure.

Business Growth Support: Support business development efforts by providing operational insight during pursuits, assisting with constructability reviews, and participating in strategic planning and client presentations.
- Performs other related leadership duties as assigned to support business objectives.
Requirements
- 5-10 years in project management within construction and/or a general contractor; commercial roofing experience .
- Proven track record in leading large, complex construction projects.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and team-building abilities.
- Excellent financial acumen and budget management.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in construction project management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Microsoft Project).
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field ( but nor required).
