Job Details:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Construction Project Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment on a variety of construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, cost management, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a solid understanding of construction accounting principles and practices, as well as familiarity with construction software such as Timberline and Sage 300.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all financial aspects of construction projects, including budget preparation, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and review change orders, lien waivers, and pay apps to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Use construction software (Timberline, Sage 300, etc.) to monitor project costs and budgets, generate financial reports, and manage contracts and change orders.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including American Institute of Architects (AIA) guidelines.
- Analyze project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, and utilization.
- Provide financial advice and guidance to project managers and other team members.
- Participate in project review meetings and provide financial insights and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project accounting.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in construction software, including Timberline and Sage 300.
- Experience with lien waivers, change orders, AIA guidelines, and pay apps.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements in the construction industry.
- Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong team player with a commitment to collaborative problem solving.
