Construction Operations Manager in San Francisco

We are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead our fire protection business, overseeing daily operations, field teams, and customer service. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery across inspections, repairs, and installations while driving efficiency, accountability, and growth.The ideal candidate has experience in fire protection, life safety, fire escapes or service-based industries and is comfortable managing both field technicians and office operations. Candidates holding a General Class B license is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Team Leadership
- Manage and lead field technicians and office staff
- Schedule and oversee inspections, service, and repair work
- Ensure work is completed on time, on budget, and to code
- Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable
Customer Service & Relationships
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, property managers, and contractors
- Address customer concerns and ensure a high level of service
- Support the team in identifying additional service or repair opportunities
Financial & Performance Management
- Monitor revenue, job profitability, and labor efficiency
- Review and approve estimates, proposals, and invoices
- Drive performance to meet company growth and financial goals
Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure all work meets NFPA standards and local codes
- Maintain proper documentation and inspection records
- Conduct quality checks and field audits
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements in workflow, scheduling, and systems
- Support and enforce use of platforms such as ServiceTrade, NetSuite, or Sage
- Improve team productivity and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Experience in fire protection, construction, HVAC, or service-based operations preferable
- Proven experience managing field teams and operations
- Strong understanding of inspections, service workflows, and compliance
- Experience with ServiceTrade or similar field service software
- Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage, etc.)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- General Contractor Class B License holder is a benefit
