Operations Manager –
Civil Construction
(Remote within ARIZONA ONLY)
Salary Range:
$130,000 – $175,000 + Bonus
A leading Arizona-based civil construction firm is seeking a strategic and experienced Operations Manager to lead field operations across grading and wet utility crews. This high-impact role offers the opportunity to influence the direction of major public infrastructure projects, manage large-scale crews, and collaborate with internal teams across project management and pre-construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily field operations for 25+ active grading and utility crews across multiple projects.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and the Pre-Construction team to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery.
Manage the performance, scheduling, and productivity of field personnel while driving a collaborative and accountable culture.
Monitor and support active job sites (up to 6–8 at a time) ranging in size and complexity, including grading, wet utilities, and underground infrastructure for public works.
Evaluate and improve operational processes, job cost efficiency, and resource allocation.
Interface with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure alignment on schedules, safety, and performance metrics.
Contribute to long-term strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives.
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in civil construction, including grading and wet utilities.
Proven ability to manage field operations across multiple concurrent projects.
Strong communication, team leadership, and vendor negotiation skills.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume, collaborative environment.
Familiarity with relevant construction technology and operations management tools.
Stable employment history; candidates with frequent job changes may not be considered.
