Job Description
Construction NQ Solicitor
A medium-sized, independent law firm based in Reading are looking for a highly motivated, driven, commercial litigator to join their established construction team. They will consider applications from Solicitors with 0-3 years PQE.
The role
This role offers flexibility and can be tailored based on your interests and experience in contentious or non-contentious construction law. Key responsibilities may include:
- Drafting and advising on standard form and bespoke construction contracts (including JCT and NEC)
- Managing construction disputes via adjudication, arbitration, and litigation
- Advising on professional appointments and collateral warranties
- Providing guidance on compliance with the Building Safety Act and related legislation
- Running your own caseload with appropriate support and supervision
- Contributing to business development initiatives and client relationships
About you
Please apply if you are Trainee Solicitor or are already qualified with between 0-3 years PQE.
You’ll need to be hard working, resourceful, responsive and resilient, with the ability to grasp new challenges and areas of law quickly and accurately. You need to be able to provide pragmatic and commercial solutions tailored to a range of different clients. You should have the ability to supervise and develop others and be willing to engage in peer-to-peer discussions with senior colleagues as part of a close-knit team.
