Construction Materials Testing Technician (Quality Control Tech) in Honolulu

Our company is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician (QC Tech) to support our construction materials testing operations, primarily on Oahu and Kauai, with assignments on other islands as needed.

A technician's duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Collecting asphalt/concrete/aggregate samples and performing lab tests
• Observing, inspecting, and conducting on-site field testing of construction materials (asphalt mixture, concrete).
• Drilling cores from constructed asphalt pavement
• Maintaining cleanliness of equipment, laboratory facilities, and company property
• Providing help to senior technicians and/or the department manager

Requirements:

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Must have a high school diploma, equivalent or higher education
• Must be able to do basic math (add, subtract, divide, multiply)
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds of material samples
• Must be willing to travel to neighboring islands for work (company provides airfare, accommodation, and overnight subsistence).
• Must be able to obtain necessary security clearance to work on various State and Federal projects
• Comply with all safety standards, rules and regulations set by the company
• Current Drivers License with clean record
• Must be willing to learn new tasks related to laboratory work
• Certifications in construction materials industry is a plus
